Walbridge Recognized Individually by Big Three For Performance, Supplier Diversity

DETROIT, Mich. – Three awards by each of the Big Three in three months.

Since May, Walbridge’s performance earned awards by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), Ford Motor Company and General Motors (GM).

“We’re proud to continue our long-standing tradition of construction excellence for our customers,” Walbridge President Mike Haller said. “That commitment is shown day-in and day-out by our project teams on the ground. We’re grateful our customers recognize our continued efforts and appreciative of their trust in our team.”

In May, Walbridge was recognized by GM as a 2018 Supplier of the Year. The company also earned a 2019 Gold Award for Top Diversity Performance.

In June, Walbridge was recognized as a top-performing global supplier during the 21st annual Ford World Excellence Awards, with the Special Recognition Award.

FCA honored Walbridge as its Diversity Supplier of the Year during the company’s 2019 Annual Supplier Conference and Award Ceremony. The award is based on performance in quality, delivery, cost and warrant, along with input from FCA senior leadership.

The awards are distinct – based on different performance – however, the driver is the same: quality, honesty, integrity and dedication to supplier diversity never goes out of style.

Historic Commitment, Innovative Processes

Another key to construction that isn’t going out of style: a pioneering ethos synonymous with the automobile industry.

Evolving designs, innovation, technology integration and continuous improvement are mainstays in both the auto and construction industries.

Walbridge, an industry-leader in complex construction projects, was founded in Detroit in 1916. By 1917, Walbridge had completed its first automotive facility, with several more being completed by 1919.

Now, in its 103rd year, the company’s name is consistently among the top U.S. Automotive Facility Construction Companies, as determined by the Engineering News-Record, including ranking No. 1 in 2018.

Walbridge’s commitment is to continue our long-standing tradition of quality construction and dedicated processes with innovative technologies that benefit our customers.

“As our digital and physical worlds grow more linked, new technologies are transforming how we design, build and communicate faster, collaborate more effectively and deliver unexpected value,” Eric Twigg, Group Vice President of Walbridge Innovation and Improvement Leadership.
