The University of North Carolina at Charlotte hired Walbridge to construct a five-story expansion of the Union Parking Deck. The project will add more than 600 parking spaces to the west end of the Union Deck. Expansion will make up for the loss of parking spaces on campus due to construction of a new Health and Wellness Center.
The project, according to the university, is budgeted for approximately $14.5 million. Construction is expected to be completed in spring 2018.
UNC Charlotte, located just 8 miles from uptown Charlotte, is a public urban research university. UNC Charlotte is among the fastest growing universities in the UNC System with more than 28,000 enrolled students.
