Walbridge is excited to welcome Nilkanth (Neil) Desai as the Director of PPMOF (Prefabrication, Preassembly, Modularization, and Offsite Fabrication). In this role, Neil will lead the advancement of Walbridge’s PPMOF initiative, an effort aimed at expanding the use of offsite construction methods to improve safety, speed, predictability, and quality across all projects.
With more than 21 years of experience leading large, complex construction projects in hyperscale data center, oil and gas, and civil infrastructure, Neil brings extensive technical knowledge and a proven ability to drive results across organizations. His leadership will play a key role in aligning Walbridge’s prefabrication and modularization strategies with broader innovation and operational excellence goals.
Throughout his career, Neil has led multidisciplinary teams to deliver over 4 gigawatts of hyperscale data center projects, and has overseen greenfield construction, retrofit and decommissioning programs, and large-scale power infrastructure builds. He has managed end-to-end project delivery, including procurement, contract negotiation, and supply chain management for major civil and mechanical systems. His comprehensive understanding of complex projects, from electrical and mechanical to controls and cabling, will allow him to support how Walbridge integrates prefabrication and modular solutions from design through delivery.
Neil holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, as well as a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University at Buffalo (SUNY) in Buffalo, N.Y. He is also a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and trained in advanced negotiation and FIDIC contract management.
