Getting wise on sustainability

Building green makes sense. It’s better for the planet and it saves our clients money in the long run. We recognize a responsibility to minimize our impact on the environment while we do our job.

Being Green is Smart and Responsible

Ford Motor Company has selected Walbridge to work on key projects, including the $2 billion transformation of its historic Rouge Complex. A key feature is the 454,000-square-foot “living” roof created atop the truck assembly building – one of the largest of its kind in the world.

In a full-circle story, Walbridge demolished sections of Ford’s Dearborn Stamping Plant in 2012 and sent 3,900 tons of scrap steel to recyclers. The product was converted at steel mills into new rolled sheet steel, which is being used by automakers, including Ford, to create new vehicle parts.

Walbridge has completed more than 70 Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) registered or certified projects.
