Walbridge constructed two major paint building additions to BMW’s existing Greer Assembly plant.
The first addition accommodates a new phosphate e-coat process. Its first-floor slab-on-grade is 119,000 square feet and structurally incorporates two mezzanine levels for process systems that added another 71,260 square feet.
The second addition, IPP, accommodates a new top-coat paint process. The addition has a 75,589-square-foot slab-on-grade and structurally incorporates four mezzanine levels for process systems that add another 156,800 square feet. The project included integration of new paint processes and changes to the existing paint systems. Building completion was reached at the end of 2008 with the final process integration in August 2010.
