Located on the grounds of Toyota’s largest vehicle manufacturing operation in Georgetown, KY, Walbridge is constructing a new home for the automaker’s North American production engineering team.
The 250,000-square-foot building will contain a state-of-the-art testing lab, administrative space, conference and dining areas. It will serve as home for 700 Toyota employees, 300 of whom are relocating from Erlanger, Kentucky and elsewhere.
Walbridge is teaming on the project with Devon Industrial Group of Detroit.
$80 million investment
Toyota officials have stated that the expansion in Georgetown represents a local investment of $80 million. At the same time, Toyota is constructing a new North American headquarters in Plano, Texas, and new facilities in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Walbridge constructed the very first phases of Toyota’s Georgetown complex back in the mid-1980s.
