Midwest Construction Veteran Frownfelter Joins Walbridge

DETROIT – Kirk Frownfelter, a construction industry veteran with extensive experience in the Midwestern United States, has joined Walbridge and will serve as General Manager of the company’s new West Michigan office.

Frownfelter joins Walbridge after working as an executive director for Granger Construction Company. Prior to that he served as Executive Vice President – Area General Manager Midwest Region for Skanska, where he was responsible for operations in Michigan, northwest Ohio and Indiana. Frownfelter is a veteran of west Michigan, having spent 15 years there (1991-2006) raising his family and developing business in the Kalamazoo area. He has also worked for Morganti Group and Turner Construction. He is a graduate of Michigan State University.

Walbridge is currently serving as construction manager for the renovation of a 330,000-square-foot building in Kalamazoo that will serve as Western Michigan University’s new School of Medicine. The company’s office in Kalamazoo, which is scheduled to open in January 2013, will be responsible for pursuing new business opportunities throughout west Michigan.
