Co-founder George Walbridge left our company in 1918 to accept a commission in the U.S. Reserve Engineer Corps during World War I.
He led large crews of engineers, tradesmen and laborers in constructing two massive camps used by the U.S. Army to train soldiers for deployment to Europe. During World War II, Walbridge constructed two urgently needed ammunition manufacturing complexes, which, combined, produced 20 percent of all ammunition used by the U.S. military in Europe and the Pacific.
All that experience shows our company’s commitment to producing top-of-the-line federal projects. In recent years, Walbridge has built projects for:
- Army and Air Force Exchange Service (The Exchange)
- Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC)
- U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)
- United States Postal Service (USPS)
