Safety
“Safety is not a chore … it’s an expectation” – from client testimonial
Safety is Walbridge’s most important core value. We think, demand and deliver safety in all aspects of our business. Walbridge is one of the nation’s safest construction companies and winner of over one hundred national and regional safety awards. We conscientiously adopt Construction Industry Institute’s Best Practices.
Additionally, we have incorporated specialized training programs, which have set new benchmarks for industry practices. We are also proud to say that many of our customers have incorporated our safety program into their own organizations. Walbridge also expects our partners to adopt our safety program, policies and procedures at every level. We ask them to follow our motto — if it is not safe, I won’t do it and I won’t let others do it.
The Walbridge safety program governs the activities of all personnel employed on our projects, and is committed to Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) goals. During the past five years, Walbridge has provided over 11,000 hours of safety training to our extended family of stakeholders, employees and partners. The curriculum includes CPR/AED/First Aid, mobile crane management (Crane Action Plan), substance abuse awareness (MUST program), crisis management, site safety orientations, pre-task planning, fall protection, confined space entry and more as customer site rules and regulations dictate. Our training program and outreach efforts have had an enormous impact on our overall safety record.
Testimonial
"I have worked with Walbridge in a joint-venture relationship since 2004. Walbridge’s safety mindset extends from the top down. Safety is the foundation upon which Walbridge builds their jobs. Walbridge is very detailed in the tracking of each job …Walbridge is also very good at learning from past experiences and sharing those experiences across all projects so the same mistake is not made twice….With Walbridge, safety is not a chore or something that has to be done, it is an expectation."
