SAVANNAH, Ga. –Walbridge was awarded the Savannah District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ 2009 Large Military Contractor of the Year Award in recognition of the company’s superior safety performance managing military projects ranging from 10 to 50 million dollars. Walbridge demonstrated its award-winning safety practices on the 4th Vehicle Maintenance Complex at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Awards were handed out at the Savannah District’s Annual Serious About Safety Conference. The program recognizes contractors for the execution of extremely effective safety programs. The Savannah District serves 13 Army and Air Force bases in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Walbridge Corporate Safety Manager Dennis Jones also received a Certificate of Appreciation in gratitude for his active role on the Contractor Advisory Board. Jones presented on crane safety during the annual conference. Walbridge representatives Robert Crane and Rick Kinney were also on hand to receive the safety honors.
Walbridge is providing construction services on 19 military bases throughout the United States. A sample of current projects includes the Anniston Army Depot Transmission Addition Facility, Alabama; Vehicle Technology Directorate's laboratory at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland; the 5th Infantry Brigade Combat Team Barracks at Fort Stewart, Georgia; the Combat Aviation Brigade Tactical Equipment Facility at Fort Bliss, Texas and the Moffett Field Armed Forces Reserve Center, California.
