Ground Breaking Held for New Army Research Laboratory
Walbridge broke ground on the new Vehicle Technology Directorate’s Laboratory at Aberdeen Proving Ground on Friday, Sept. 4. The 19,700 square-foot building will provide space for research and testing of aeromechanics and structures, mechanical systems and propulsion materials conducted by the VTD’s Mechanics and Propulsion Divisions.
Army Research Laboratory Director John Miller says the state-of-the-art facility will allow VTD researches to develop the technologies necessary to protect soldiers.
Building construction is scheduled to complete by April 2011.
