Walbridge is committed to providing environmental stewardship of the communities and ecosystems in which we build. Walbridge’s engineering and construction expertise has led us to become an integral partner in the world’s most innovative alternative energy initiative, Abu Dhabi’s Masdar City Project. The Masdar City Project will establish metrics and best practices that will revolutionize sustainable design and construction. Walbridge is consulting on technology and methods to create the world’s first carbon-neutral, zero-waste, energy-positive city. The city will produce three percent more power than it uses to off-set energy used during construction. We’re providing preconstruction services and consulting on carbon emissions, logistics, water use-reduction, water desalination and uses of efficient temporary power. Learn more about the Masdar project>

 
Walbridge has the ability to meet sustainability standards established throughout the world and is an active member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). We participate in project registration and certification in accordance with the LEED® Green Building Rating System, and encourage employees to participate in environmental training programs and seek professional accreditation. Our sustainable work includes nearly a half-million square feet of living roof area and over eight million square feet of green facilities. We are active in renewable energy projects and have built wind farms throughout the United States. We've developed guidelines for Walbridge sustainable jobsites, including the use of low VOC adhesives, interior paints and flooring, efficient light bulbs and diversion of 75 percent of waste materials from land fills.
