Environmental responsibility is more than words or promises. Taking action is the key to protecting and preserving the communities in which we live and build. Walbridge embraces our role as environmental stewards and to assess our progress, we’ve launched a program to strategically and measurably reduce environmental impact during construction and throughout a facility’s lifecycle.
The Walbridge Intelligent Sustainability and Environmental Program, GreenWISE, supports our core values and affirms our commitment to providing sustainable construction solutions. With standards exceeding both Environmental Protection Agency and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act regulatory guidelines, the program is comprised of 18 job site practices focused on design choices and construction methods that affect a project’s carbon footprint.
The GreenWISE program empowers Walbridge employees with a series of standards and alternatives for promoting conservation and establishes a new platform for thinking green. From reducing energy use with lighting timers, to using low volatile organic compounds or employing responsible purchasing, the program is a collection of evolving solutions and practice improvements.
Our working partners are crucial to the program’s success. The GreenWISE program educates and incorporates our customers, subcontractors, suppliers and the community. Walbridge will provide guidance to our partners, ensuring we share a common approach to minimize environmental impact to the neighborhoods and ecosystems in which we build.
