Architects & Engineers

We see architectural and engineering firms as important strategic partners. The success of our working relationships is defined by communication, collaboration and trust. We are unique among contractors and construction managers in that we maintain a full-time engineering management department consisting of architects and engineers.

We have vast experience in varying partnering arrangements. Whether a project is designer-led or Walbridge is taking the lead, our engineering staff is here to assure you that your creative, innovative designs receive the detail and attention they need from the construction side. With experience linking a project’s design side to the build side, we understand your needs and concerns.

Our knowledgeable staff is well balanced with strengths in all disciplines. As part of our services, we perform scheduling, budget and constructability reviews to help the team control costs, while preserving your creativity. We also offer CAD assistance in BIM, as well as 3D and 4D modeling. Together, we can manage projects, mitigate risk and improve scheduling to best serve our customers.

Working Relationships

Over the years, Walbridge has developed close working relationships with some of the top architectural and engineering firms in the nation. Here’s what some of our partners on recent projects have to say about their experience:

Testimonials:

Project: University of Michigan North Quadrangle Academic and Residential Complex

“We are especially pleased to have worked so successfully with Walbridge as Construction Manager and the project team from the University’s Architecture, Engineering and Construction Group ... A project of this scale and complexity (360,000 gsf and approximately $150 million) could easily have taken another year or more for design and construction. It was a spirit of intense cooperation from the very beginning that made this project the complete success it has become.”

Project: Eastern Michigan University Pray-Harrold Hall

“ ... In this particular project, Walbridge aided the team by setting realistic cost expectations from the onset so that the design didn’t have to suffer in order to meet budget. Walbridge also took SHW design-development documents and started constructability reviews before design development was done, helping the project stay ahead of schedule early, proving important for the overall success. Walbridge was very professional, timely, and a great team player.”
