DETROIT, Mich. – The construction of a unified University of Michigan Ross School of Business complex is being honored tonight by The Engineering Society of Detroit’s (ESD) 43rd Annual Construction and Design Awards.

The award is “among the premier recognitions awarded to members of the construction industry and their projects.”

The ESD promotes excellence, innovation, cooperation, professional growth and fellowship in the engineering, scientific and allied professions.

Completed in the summer of 2016, the University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business Renovation and Addition created a unified look for the entire Ross School of Business complex.

The new Jeff T. Blau Hall was built to replace the aging Computer & Executive Education Building, adding 104,000 square feet to the complex. Meanwhile the Kresge Library was renovated and transformed into Kresge Hall, giving students 75,000 additional square feet for classrooms, study and meeting space. Additionally, Sam Wyly Hall, the Business Administrative Executive Dormitory and the Hill Street Parking Structure were all dressed up with new exterior finishes.

This is the second state-wide recognition project has received after being named a “Build Michigan” award-winner in February.
